Cold Snap Classic 🎄 Movie #5: Sabotage!

Cold Snap movie #5 is here! This is a 1936 suspense film set in London directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring a cast of British, American, and Austrian actors. I just recently discovered this movie and it’s a good one! It’s got spies, undercover agents, and mysterious covert meetings… Suspenseful is a great word for it! Looking forward to hearing your verdict on this one!

As always with an Alfred Hitchcock movie, you can look forward to some dazzling cinematography and, if you’re very watchful, you’ll see the director make an appearance–somewhere–in the movie!

  1. Music in filmography of Hitchcock is as impactful as the actors and characters. The music always seems to be apropos for the scene and the movie’s genre. Film studios of decades past employed many talented musicians. Modern film production is not quite the same.

    • No, definitely not! But I think the studios would probably hire musicians if they had an Alfred Hitchcock to tell them they need that. This film gave me fresh appreciation for him as a director. He was the master of creating a scene infused with anxiety, wasn’t he? I wanted to shout at the screen during the bus scene of Sabotage.
