The photographer was Mrs. Schultze. She named the photo “A Solo.” I couldn’t learn anything about Mrs. Schultze or the boy in the photograph, other than that she took a picture of him that is perfect for a warm April afternoon.

The photo immediately drew my thoughts to “The Legend of Robert Johnson, ‘The Man Who Sold His Soul To The Devil.’ “ I recommend the video about Robert Johnson on YouTube.
I believe The Charles Daniels Band’s song, “The Devil Went Down To Georgia,” is based on the legend of Robert Johnson albeit it about a fiddle player not a guitarist.
Robert Johnson is incredible! I love his music. I bought a double CD years ago, and I believe it was everything he ever recorded. You know he died when he was just 27 but nobody’s ever been able to touch him as a guitarist…
Yes there’s some controversy about it, but I don’t recall it either… you know the story about meeting the devil at the crossroads came about because he was apparently so-so with the guitar and went away for just a little while and came back playing like we hear him today. It was a supernatural talent!
What a sweet photo! Too bad we can’t hear him sing. Looks as if it’s coming from his soul.

I knew he passed at 27. Of unknown causes, as I recall.
