Musical accompaniment: In the Middle of a Riddle by Kay Armen.
Do you like a good riddle?
A young woman and her friends are ice skating on a very cold December day. The lake is frozen solid and the ice is several inches thick.
The friends build a small bonfire near the lake and the young woman is left alone there warming her hands for about four minutes.
When her friends return, there is no trace of the girl. There are no animal tracks, no footprints in the snow, save those of the young woman and her friends.
What could have happened to her?
This riddle relates to an odd story I read this morning. Stay tuned—I’ll share more soon! We’ll figure out this case together.

Is that a mandolin? A ukulele? A lute? A harpsichord? I suspect it is a mandolin. Four sets of double strings, each set of strings identically turned.

I believe it’s a zither. Anton Karas composed the whole soundtrack for the Third Man, the Orson Welles movie. I highly recommend it!

I struggled playing a 4-string ukulele, I cannot image playing a 30 or 40 string zither. My perception of a zither is it’s a piano’s soundboard and strings outside a rim, or some may say case or cabinet. I think that is why I thought it could be a harpsichord, which also has many strings like a piano that are plucked. Versus a piano string that is struck by a felt covered wood hammer. I suppose I went off on a tangent on this comment. That’s my curiosity again at work.

I work with strengths a lot as a coach. People with Intellection are deep thinkers and processors. They aren’t content with a surface level understanding of any topic they find intriguing. They often have a few topics they specialize in. In your case, perhaps history?
It’s not a strength you see too often. If you image an average person who represents the world’s population, Intellection would rank #20 of the 34 strengths.

It is intense, from the moment you arrive to the minutes you leave 7 days later. Very long days. When I had the experience, Barnum was based in Baltimore and held the programs at various resort locations around the U.S. and abroad. I attended a session in Naples, FL. Once executive from my company (I convinced the CEO they all should go through it) told me if he had to do it again he would resign. The feedback is very poignant and frank. I told him, “If the truth hurts don’t blame me, blame the truth.”
