Archive.org has a most unusual and beautiful set of photographs called the Hermann Leiser Project, circa 1915.

The pictures include published postcards of people like opera singers, actors, musicians, and silent movie actors.

Here are a few that I found to be really remarkable. I think the men’s appearance is more interesting than the women.
