Lonely, California is the name of a photograph taken by I.C. Adams in 1911.

It caught my eye because of its unusual name. When I looked into it, the metadata says the title of the photo was “devised by Library staff.”  Isn’t that peculiar?  The picture itself is suggestive of loneliness.
