One of my favorite things about publishing a new book is having the chance to visit with my friend Erik Rivenes on his podcast, Most Notorious.

As you know, I haven’t written a new book recently so imagine my surprise when Erik asked me to join him for an episode about two of my stories here on Old Spirituals! We discussed the strange persecution of Lillian Hawkins and the mysterious murder of Ruby Reed.

Both are interesting stories, but I think Lillian’s might be one of the strangest stories I’ve ever come across. I was always a little suspicious of her account–though some things cannot be easily dismissed–but your comments do give me pause. Often you will bring up things that haven’t occurred to me as I research and write these stories. There have been a few occasions where my thoughts about someone have shifted considerably based on the things you point out!
