In honor of Billie Holiday’s birthday (April 7, 1915), I’m sharing a few of her songs that are favorites of mine. I don’t listen to much jazz, but her voice was so unique and beautiful, I think everyone who ever encountered it must love it.

She was incredible! The sad, soulful voice of a Depression Era Generation, but most definitely the voice of the downtrodden. There has been no other that could reach the highs she did in her lows yet.
