Earlier this year, I discovered 1930s crooner Al Bowlly and I listen to him all the time now.

His music hearkens back to a more innocent and beautiful time when people were gracious to one another and took pride in their appearance and conduct. Perhaps if we listen closely his voice will guide us back to a simpler, sweeter life.
Sounds a bit like Al Jolson. Like you, I am a fan of the music of the past, especially the 1940s. Names like Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, The Andrews Sisters, et al, top my favorites list. Today’s equivalent is Michael Bublé.

I’m such a Frank Sinatra fan… there was a big sign near my house when I lived in Ohio that said, It’s Frank’s world, we just live in it!

I love this music! In my mind’s eye, I see Hercule Poirot sitting at a small, round table with a small table lamp and dancing couples whirling around on the dance floor in their formal attire. (murder yet to come!). I’ve never heard of All Bowlly before. Thanks for the introduction, Kimberly! I live in Las Vegas and our Frank once threw a man through a huge plate glass window at the Tropicana Hotel. What happens in Vegas…..

You’re welcome! I’m so glad you like Al Bowlly. I bet you our Frank has gotten the better of more than one plate glass window! 😉
