If you’re not familiar with Mr. Hurt, he has probably the gentlest voice in blues.
I found this great photo of an anonymous cowboy in Archive.org. There’s no information about it, except they estimated it was taken around 1890.
He looks so cool and confident, doesn’t he?

I, too, immediately thought of Paul Newman. In my youth, the Cowboy and the American soldier were my idols. I watched all the vintage cowboy and military TV series. When I see a photo of a “real cowboy” from the 1800s I am disappointed when I compare the subject The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, The Cisco Kid, Have Gun, Will Travel, et al.
