Enjoyed Cold Heart very much. Well written! A thought about the case. Was it possible that Ed Burdick was a closet homosexual and the killer was a lover or casual date? Did the police explore this possibility? Could be a reason the family kept secrets.

Hi Jack, thank you so much! Your theory is fascinating and I don’t think anyone explored that possibility. Or, let’s say, if they did, they didn’t document it. It certainly could have happened that way! Ed was such a nice guy, it was hard to believe there were multiple suspects in his murder, but there were many. There was a lot of rage at that crime scene…
