Arnold Genthe’s Ladies in Red

Long-time readers of Old Spirituals know this isn’t the first post featuring the beautiful work of photographer Arnold Genthe. I try not to inundate the site with one artist but in Mr. Genthe’s case, I must make an exception!

I’ll add a little musical accompaniment, courtesy of Mr. Cole Porter singing You’re the Top. Mr. Porter was a composer and a songwriter and he typically didn’t sing his own songs, but that makes it more fun, doesn’t it?

This post features autochrome photos of ladies wearing red.
