Dark Post Eruption

Does life unfold according to a Plan? Is it all predestined and choreographed?

You can go off-script and pray and visualize. But nothing changes until one day you realize the ancient Greeks may have been right. We can’t escape our fate. It’s a dark thought but any chronically late person will agree that it’s far more appealing than the idea of Divine Timing.

Maybe there’s one other method. Ancient Americans called down the thunder whenever they needed help from the Great Spirit. Perhaps their descendants are doing that in this untitled photograph by Richard Turner in 1910.

I’m open to experiment. Let’s hope the neighbors are cool about it.

You know–this post was going to be a picture and a song but somehow this smoking volcano erupted instead.

  1. A religious person would say, “Man plans and God laughs.” Also, “Man makes plans and God guides his steps.”
